This tradition has been around too long and it’s another excuse to show someone you love (and it doesn’t have to be just your significant other or that crush you have) with something extra special whether it be flowers, a card, a homemade gift, candy or of course: CUPCAKES!! I did just that for everyone!!
I focused on two designs. One, the “Box of Chocolates” from the Hello Cupcake! Book.
Two, a basic vanilla recipe that you take part of the batter, color it, bake it on a cookie sheet, cut out hearts and bake them into the cupcakes! Both designs turned out very well for me!
The first one I did chocolate strawberry-filled cupcakes and used a variety of candy and frosting to decorate them like chocolates. They turned out super cute and here is the process of that:
For the second batch, I recently discovered using fruit naturally helps with coloring batter and frosting. Therefore, I used some strawberries to color the hearts. They baked rather nicely and I did the white swirl with the frosting, sprinkled red, pink sprinkles, and white non-perils and Heart toppers. Simple, but elegant.
It complimented the very creative “Box of Chocolate cupcakes.”
